Magnificent Hajar Mountains via Fanja, Sumail and Izki, at the old town and pretty village of Birkat Al Mauz, situated at the foothills of Jebel Akhdar ‘Green Mountain’. Enjoy a walk through its oasis and dense date plantations. From here you continue your tour to the township of Nizwa, the ancient capital of Oman. Nizwa clusters around its historical buildings, traditional Souk and the imposing circular-towered fort built during the mid 17th century by Imam Sultan bin Saif Al Yar’ubi. The town has a lush palm oasis stretching for 8km along two wadis. Water canals run through all parts of Nizwa area. The most important one is Falaj Daris, formed by two streams, which irrigates a large part of the town.
