CoachQuriyyat01

This wadi is arguably one of the most gorgeous destinations in Oman. Beyond the breathtaking entrance, the wadi rewards you with views of aquamarine pools, waterfalls and terraced plantations; kingfishers add glorious splashes of color. For the adventurous, there are plenty of opportunities for (discreet) swimming and a visit to a partially submerged cave.

1230h :Wadi Shab Hotel (Lunch)

1400h :Bimmah Sinkhole

CoachQuriyyat02

The blue-green, brackish water at the bottom of this peculiar 40m by 20m limestone hole invites a swim and a snorkel. The intrepid can inch round the ledges that surround the pool and dive into the deep unknown. It's known locally as Bayt al-Afreet (House of the Demon); you could come face to face with more than you bargained for in the water, the depth of which is still uncertain. If the demon eludes you, look out for the equally elusive blind cavefish instead.

0915h :Quriyyat Fishing Village

CoachQuriyyat03

Quriyyat is a small fishing village 83km southeast of Muscat, Oman, adjacent to the towns of Sur, Diman Wa Tayeen and Amerat. A popular stopping point on the way to Sur, Quriyyat is in itself also a very popular destination for Muscat.

1700h :Back to Muscat
